Description

Intro to Defensive Handgun is a 1 day, 10-hour course that is designed to address the lawful and defensive use of a handgun.  There is a written exam and live fire qualification that requires a minimum score of 80% on both in order to receive a certificate. The course addresses safety, legal considerations, maintenance, methods of carry, ammunition selection, drawing from concealment, immediate and remedial action to correct malfunctions, and reholstering considerations. Students are required to attend the course in its entirety, pass a written and practical exam, possess a Concealed Handgun License, and have all of the required equipment for the course. The intent of this course is for students to learn how to draw from the holster and clothing they would normally wear while carrying a concealed handgun, but please examine the gear list as many common holsters and carry methods are neither safe nor acceptable for this class. Students must have a Concealed Handgun License, Active or Retired LEO/First Responder Credentials, or be subject to a background check.

Class begins at 8am in the classroom and will not complete prior to 6pm.
